The design decisions embodied in Toorak’s Stonnington Place prove our commitment to following our client’s brief while delivering beyond expectation.
Rob Mills
While the house is a new build in this elite Melbourne suburb, RMA retained a charming barn located at the rear of the property and converted it into a garage with an apartment above. The house itself was designed to accommodate a young family, with the flexibility to suit the changing stages of life. In fact, the original clients are still living there fifteen years later.
This is a house where the well-crafted garden spaces enhance the living experience. “We worked with Anne Wilkes on the landscaping, which was a privilege as she is a great talent with a tremendous understanding of planting and exterior scale,” says Mills.
The dense, mannered foliage creates a sense of enclosure, emphasizing the home as an oasis – a signature RMA device that expands interior space visually and connects to the power of nature.
