At Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors (RMA), we create self-sufficient homes that combine sustainable architecture with the highest standards of luxury and comfort our clients expect.

RMA is a unique architectural practice because we not only build on commissioned land but also seek out land that will provide the great living experience our clients demand. We understand that off-grid architecture requires careful planning, and the site itself is critical to the success of a self-sufficient home.

Our designs reflect a commitment to regenerative architecture and sustainability. We use locally sourced and recycled materials, including timber and stone, which not only connect the home to the surrounding landscape but also prioritise durability and minimise waste. By reducing reliance on traditional utility systems, renewable energy homes are powered by solar arrays and feature water-efficient systems, including rainwater harvesting and closed-loop wastewater management.

We make sure that our sustainable homes offer energy-efficient living through high-performance insulation, natural light, and ventilation. LED lighting and low-consumption appliances are selected to reduce energy use, ensuring a truly sustainable living experience without sacrificing comfort.

The multi-generational design of many of our homes also allows for groups to come together while still offering spaces for privacy and individual retreat. The spaces are adaptable, providing areas for shared experiences and moments of solitude, all within the same sustainable framework.

Water is a precious resource, and we take great care with every decision regarding its management. For all of our homes, notably those in remote and regional locations, rainwater is captured and stored, providing a reliable water source for everyday needs. Our homes are designed to reduce water wastage wherever possible. Additionally, our experience in bushfire-prepared design ensures that homes are equipped with sprinklers, water storage, and safety bunkers to protect against extreme weather events.
