The Role

RMA designs exceptional traditional and contemporary residences across Australia. Based either in Melbourne, Interior Designers need to be aligned with RMA’s design aesthetic. A willingness and ability to become an expert on our project processes, standards of production and construction documentation is key, as is a desire to contribute to the high standard of design and craftmanship which the RMA brand is renowned for.

Key Criteria

  • A minimum of 4 Years of Interior Design experience within the Architecture, Interior Design industry
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of Revit, Enscape, Microsoft Office, Adobe and software specific to the role
  • An ability to make significant contributions to all aspects of the design process from initial introduction to completion.
  • Be driven to stay up to date with the latest software, hardware and AI. “It is not AI that will replace you, it is the user of AI.”
  • A willingness to become an expert in processes and standards to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on budget and to RMA quality
  • Applicants must have excellent strategic thinking while being open to new perspectives/better ways of doing things
  • A proven ability to procure and successfully implement systems & procedures
  • Skills to administer Administration Standards and Process and Design and Documentation Standards and to go in search of ways to improve these
  • A proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • A good sense of timeliness, organization, and the ability to be proactive.
  • Ability to take direction and use initiative to work through processes
  • Ability to work within a team environment that includes both collaborators and external parties. A willingness to take direction and learn leadership skills from senior staff through both observation and participation.
  • Successful completion of tasks by rigorously following processes, and directives from senior staff
  • Ability to learn and follow a contract with a clear understanding of project phase and fee thresholds.
  • A willingness to be mentored by senior staff. A drive to increase their level of responsibility and capacity as a team member.
  • Willingness to become familiar with RMA past projects, client history and stakeholder relationships.
