Hampden by RMA is a boutique collection of nine generously proportioned residences in the heart of Armadale. Conceived, designed and delivered by RMA, the project embodies the principles that have guided the practice for more than three decades: intelligent architecture, healthy living, enduring craftsmanship and a meaningful connection to nature. Every decision was guided by a clear ambition: to create residences that feel uplifting, welcoming and a genuine pleasure to return to. The result is a collection of homes that contributes thoughtfully to one of Melbourne's most established and admired neighbourhoods.

The architecture reflects a belief that enduring buildings are created through thoughtful design and carefully chosen materials. Inspired by the Palazzo della Civiltà in Rome, elegant arches and gentle curves establish a timeless architectural language while deeply recessed openings provide natural shelter and shade. Ghost-grey brickwork, softened through a carefully developed wash, captures changing light throughout the day and contributes to a warm, enduring presence within the streetscape. Pocket gardens and generous landscaping reinforce the building's connection to nature, while the inherent longevity and low maintenance of brick ensure the architecture will continue to enrich the neighbourhood for generations to come.
Drawing upon RMA’s extensive residential experience, every apartment was planned to provide the generosity, comfort and flexibility more commonly associated with a family home. Three-bedroom layouts, expansive living spaces and abundant natural light create residences that feel open, calm and deeply liveable. Arched windows capture sunlight throughout the day, while natural materials and carefully considered detailing establish warmth and authenticity. Today, Hampden is home to a close-knit community of residents who share not only an address, but a way of living that values connection, wellbeing and a genuine sense of neighbourhood.
