Architecture Designed to Belong

Vaucluse Residence

1 / 2

Positioned on one of Sydney Harbour’s most distinguished waterfront sites, Vaucluse Residence responds thoughtfully to both its remarkable setting and complex landform. A broad street frontage gradually narrows towards the shoreline, presenting a unique planning opportunity. Influenced by classic European design, the architecture is carefully balanced through detail and proportion, bringing a sense of order and grace to the residence. RMA shaped the home to capture expansive harbour views while remaining settled and deeply connected to its surroundings. The result reflects the significance of both the land and the life it supports, to be enjoyed by the family for generations to come.

Every detail of the residence reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and enduring quality. A carefully composed palette of stone, terracotta, render, wrought iron and glass creates a sense of permanence, balanced by generous natural light throughout the interiors. Three sets of glazed French doors establish a memorable arrival, while a dramatic oval staircase beneath a cupola draws light deep into the centre of the home. Steel-framed internal doors strengthen visual connections between spaces, and a formal dining room provides a gracious focal point for entertaining and family celebrations.

The finest residences are shaped by the character of their land, the individuality of their owners and the skill of the craftspeople who bring them to life.
