The best renovations don't erase the past. They respect its character, embrace its imperfections
and create the opportunity for another generation to make it their own.

Kew Residence began with a handsome Victorian villa, a generous parcel of land and a growing family with 6 children. Our response was guided by respect for what already existed while creating a residence that could support the next chapter of family life. Carefully balanced proportions, honest materials and a confident contemporary addition establish a natural dialogue between heritage and modern living, allowing each to strengthen the other.
When the foundations of a residence are strong, they deserve to be celebrated. They become the starting point for creating a home that continues to enrich the lives of future generations.

The planning of Kew Residence was shaped around the way a large family lives together. The original villa provided intimate spaces for bedrooms, studies and music rooms, while the new additions introduced generous areas for gathering, entertaining and everyday family life. A carefully choreographed sequence between old and new creates moments of discovery throughout the residence, allowing each space to retain its own character while contributing to a cohesive whole.
The relationship between old and new extends beyond the architecture. Honest materials including brick and Australian hardwoods create warmth, durability and authenticity, while generous outdoor spaces ensure the residence remains connected to its landscape. Together, these elements establish a home that feels unmistakably contemporary.
