Our ambition was to create a studio that elevated the everyday. A place of relaxed luxury that satisfied our deep desire for simplicity, meaning and a greater sense of wellbeing.

Building on the success of One Hot Yoga Melbourne, RMA was invited to create a new studio in Sydney that responded to both the brand and its unique setting. Housed within a light-filled Art Deco building in Kings Cross, the two-storey studio celebrates generous proportions, natural light and the honesty of its exposed steel structure. Rather than repeating the Melbourne design, the architecture responds directly to its surroundings, creating a studio that feels authentic to Sydney while remaining true to the philosophy that defines the One Hot Yoga experience.
The interiors draw upon the warmth and familiarity of residential design, creating an environment that feels welcoming from the moment visitors arrive. Natural light, steel-framed windows, linen curtains and a carefully restrained material palette establish a quiet sense of calm, while leather detailing, brass fittings and artwork by Joshua Yeldham introduce warmth, texture and personality. Every element has been selected with care, reinforcing an atmosphere that encourages reflection, wellbeing and a genuine connection to the practice of yoga.
Healthy Design is expressed through every aspect of the studio. Abundant natural light, carefully balanced materials, fresh air and generous spaces create an environment that supports physical and emotional wellbeing. Rather than stimulating the senses, the architecture encourages stillness, focus and clarity, allowing the experience of yoga to begin well before the class itself.
RMA’s creativity is cradled by its strategic management ensuring all decisions are one with each other. Delivering the project on time, on budget, to the desired quality. Projects of this scale demand careful coordination and disciplined project leadership. Through comprehensive documentation, integrated workflows and close collaboration with consultants, craftspeople and builders, RMA maintained clarity throughout the delivery process, protecting time, cost and quality while ensuring the finished residence remained true to the original vision.
The things we choose to live with become part of the story of our lives. A favourite chair, a work of art, an object discovered while travelling or something passed from one generation to the next can hold meaning far beyond its function. We believe a home should make space for these things and allow new memories to gather around them. Furniture, art and objects are therefore never simply the finishing touches. They help transform architecture into something deeply personal: a home that could belong to no one else.
